Down By the River
by Alice Rendell, Chris Armstrong and John Halliday.
Down by the river is a 2nd year collaborative project in flash. It is a collection of mini-games based on old Japanese Fairytales. My main contrubution for all 3 games was Artwork, Concept Design, Pre-production and Project Management. For the art style I wanted to create a really collaged feel to the world so I decided to design the scenes non-digitally. To do this I scanned in various media such as materails, tissue paper, ink, newspaper, wood etc. to create the desired affect.
The Battle of the Monkey and the Crab
In this game the monkey drops fruit down from the tree in which the crab has to collect to get a score.

The Pirate and the Muscian
In this game each boat with a letter on corresponds to the same note on a piano keyboard. The muscian will play the correct order of the notes which the player must follow to create a tune.

The Vampire Cat
In this game you control the vampire cat who is chasing after a geisha girl. The level scrolls to the left and the idea is to avoid the guards that come to stop you from catching the girl.
